Lashing Steel Cargoes
- Steel cargoes are presented for shipment in a variety of ways including steel wire, steel rebar, steel plate and steel pipe coated in oil or paint to protect the cargo from moisture and other corrosive materials.
- Lashing of steel cargoes is required to be completed prior to the vessel leaving the load port to prevent them from shifting, thus endangering the voyage.
- Steel cargoes, properly stowed, shall be secured in a single unified block and, where possible, to the vessel’s hull or securing point. Seafast is currently the most prominent cargo lashing company in all ports of Vietnam.
